Promotion of Renewable Energies in Mozambique (NNV)
Duration: 1 Year (January to December 2022)
Main Objective: Train groups of producers in fixed and mobile improved stoves, promoting environmental conservation among children and adults.
Target Group: Communities in Maguiguane and Matsabe.
Location/Area of Operation: Magude District.
Human Resources: 1 Supervisor, 2 Stove Technicians, 4 Activists.
Funded by: Friends of the Earth Norway.
Approximate Value: 751,000.00 MZN.
Main Activities: Community mobilization for renewable energy use, stove production, formation of savings groups, strengthening stove and solar lamp sales points, and providing raw materials to producers.
Improvement of Food Security, Safe Water, and Sustainable Resource Management in Vulnerable Communities of Magude (Phase II)
Duration: 2 Years (July 2022 to June 2024)
Main Objective: Improve food security, water access, and resource management in 8 communities of Magude.
Target Group: 298 members of 8 agricultural associations.
Location/Area of Operation: Magude District: Magude Sede and Moataze Administrative Posts.
Human Resources: 1 General Coordinator, 1 Local Coordinator/Trainer, 1 Agricultural and Food Security Technician, 1 Water and Sanitation Technician, 1 Association Technician, 1 Improved Stoves Technician, 1 Accountant.
Funded by: Madre Coraje and Bosque y Comunidad with support from AECID.
Approximate Value: 20,414,850.00 MZN.
Main Activities: Training in sustainable agricultural practices, technical follow-up, construction of agricultural nurseries, water collection and supply systems, creation of water management committees, and reforestation campaigns.
Strengthening Diversified, Sustainable, and Resilient Livelihoods in Namaacha District
Duration: 2 Years (June 2021 to May 2023)
Main Objective: Improve the living conditions of 8 associations in Namaacha district.
Target Group: 240 members of 8 agricultural associations.
Location/Area of Operation: Namaacha District: Changalene and Namaacha-Sede Administrative Posts.
Human Resources: Provincial Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Agronomist Technician, Association Technician, Accountant, Driver/Logistics, and Security Guard.
Funded by: Madre Coraje with support from Junta de Andalucía.
Approximate Value: 16,654,943.00 MZN.
Main Activities: Rehabilitation of water systems, formation of water and sanitation committees, revitalization of agricultural associations, construction of nurseries, distribution of agricultural inputs, and organization of fairs for surplus product sales.
Promotion of the Human Right to Safe, Accessible, and Sufficient Water and Sanitation for Vulnerable Communities in Marracuene District
Duration: 18 Months (Phase I: 6 months; Phase II: 12 months)
Main Objective: Ensure the right to water and sanitation in Marracuene District.
Target Group: 9 Communities.
Location/Area of Operation: Sede and Machubo Administrative Posts.
Human Resources: Provincial Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Gender Technician, Water and Sanitation Technician, and Accountant.
Funded by: Madre Coraje with support from Junta de Castilla y León.
Approximate Value: 7,053,262.00 MZN.
Main Activities: Rehabilitation of water sources, construction of solar-powered water supply systems, construction of sanitation blocks, promotion of hygiene and sanitation practices, and creation of sanitation and hygiene committees.
Contribution to Equitable and Quality Education at Machauchau Primary School (M38)
Duration: 9 Months (September 2022 to May 2023)
Main Objective: Improve access to education in Boane District.
Target Group: Students and teachers at Machauchau Primary School.
Location/Area of Operation: Machauchau Primary School, Mulotana, Boane.
Human Resources: Provincial Coordinator, Project Coordinator, and Accountant.
Funded by: Madre Coraje with support from Ayuntamiento de Málaga and Ayuntamiento de Tudela.
Approximate Value: 4,105,225.25 MZN.
Main Activities: Construction of classrooms, installation of rainwater harvesting systems, strengthening of the school club, revitalization of the school council, and awareness campaigns on school care and environmental conservation.
